Dave Francis Lopez Mateo was a cherished friend and an inspiring presence in the global Kendama community and the Kendama USA family. His bright and energetic personality shined on everyone he met, and he brought his own unique style and energy into his Kendama play.  Beyond Kendama, Dave was a talented b-boy and musician, showcasing his artistry in many forms.

Dave’s Kendama journey led him across the USA and around the world. He founded his own Kendama summer camp, pioneered new styles of freestyle competition, and opened shows in Las Vegas for the Jabbawockeez. He remains one of the most influential Kendama pros of all time, leaving a lasting impact on the community.

We tragically lost Dave in 2019, but his mark and influence on Kendama lives on.  Spike Hard Catch Low forever!
