Why should I trust Kendama USA?
We have been in the Kendama business longer than anybody in North America. Kendama has been our focus since day 1. We have played and tested nearly every type of Kendama that’s out there, and have spent years discovering what works, and what doesn’t. We only offer products and brands that we would play ourselves. We’ve spent lots of time at different factories and production facilities around the globe who specialize in Kendama. Most fly-by-night Kendama sellers or yoyo companies simply call a Kendama order into China at the lowest price (and quality), and have never even visited the factory floor. We don’t work that way here. We know the brands that are designed for high performance play, and we know the brands that are cheap knock-offs just trying to make a buck.

We work tirelessly with all our partners to help create the best Kendamas on the market, and always aim to keep improving. When you buy from Kendama USA, your purchase helps us keep progressing Kendama design and enriching the Kendama community. We are extremely active in supporting Kendama contests, school clubs, grassroots events, and professional Kendama players. Every staff member here plays and knows Kendama. Kendama is what we do, it’s as simple as that.

How long will it take my order to arrive?
Here’s the deal. We don’t slack around here. We pack up orders quick, and push them out the door even quicker. This is the reason so many customers have been coming back to us for years. We don’t have any Amazon flying drones (yet), but we’re as quick as we can humanly be until then. Back in 2007 I was hand writing addresses and riding my bike to make post office deliveries. Today we have all sorts of software and fancy shipping tools that help make us extra efficient and fast.

Here’s what you can expect from our shipping crew:
If you place your order on a BUSINESS day, before 1pm EST, we give it to the post office THAT SAME DAY! If your order is placed after 1pm EST, we get it to the post office the next BUSINESS day. Keep in mind that if you’re ordering on Friday after 1pm EST, your order will be shipped out first thing on Monday (the next BUSINESS day). Honestly, a lot of times we will even stick around Saturday and fill orders then, too. If the post office was open Sunday, we would never sleep. Many days we make several trips to the post office to ship out as many orders as we can before the last truck goes out. Once your order has shipped you will receive a confirmation email with more detailed tracking information.

Currently all our online orders ship via USPS (the post office). First class orders typically arrive within 4 to 7 business days. Priority in 2-4 business days. International orders usually in 12 to 14 business days. Please note that these are USPS estimates, and we do not guarantee these exact transit times. What we can promise is that we will hand your order over to the post office within 1 business day after you order, if not sooner. Please understand that we cannot control the exact speed of the shipment once we have handed it off to the post office.

How much does shipping and handling cost?
Shipping and handling is calculated during checkout, and depends on the size of your order and your location. You will have a chance to see the shipping costs before finalizing your payment. We have great deals setup with the US Post Office that gives us discounted rates on shipping. We pass these savings onto you!

I live in another country, but my package tracking still says it’s in the USA. What’s going on?
International shipments often leave from large international port cities, such as Miami, New York, or Los Angeles. USPS tracks your order all the way to that final sorting facility, before crossing the border on the way to your country. USPS does not give detailed tracking information once it’s inside your country. Please note that customs operates differently in every country, and we cannot control how long customs might hold your package before releasing it to you.

My Kendama paint chipped. Is this a defect? Can I have a free one?
We are happy to always replace any products that arrive damaged, or defective. We do NOT cover any damage due to player use. Due to the nature of the game, wear and tear on the Kendama is very normal, such as dents or chips. The more impact you put on the Kendama, the faster you will chip the paint or scuff the ken. The amount of damage you’ll see on your Kendama is directly related to the way that you play it. Don’t worry too much about keeping the Kendama pristine and clean – it’s meant to be played and enjoyed! In fact, most advanced players prefer a Kendama that has some wear and tear, and is broken in nicely.

If you want to slow down the wear and tear, you’ll need to play very carefully, and minimize the impact of the Ken (handle) hitting the Tama (ball). You can do this by bending your knees while playing, and cushioning the ball when you catch it, reducing the impact. Soft hands! When you’re trying new, or difficult tricks, try playing over a soft surface like carpet or grass. Dropping your Kendama on concrete is a sure way to cause extra wear and tear. With practice and proper technique, you can learn to play in a way that extends the life of your Kendama. If it’s your first time playing, have reasonable expectations and plan to beat it up a little. No Kendama is bulletproof.

I need to make an exchange or return. How can I do this?
If you’ve ordered the wrong product, wrong color, or the wrong size, we are happy to make an exchange or refund for you. Please note that we cannot refund or exchange any products which have been opened and played. Simply send us back the product inside the original packaging, and your packing slip with a short note explaining the situation. If you do not have your original packing slip, it’s no problem. Just be sure to include your contact information (name, email, phone) and shipping address on a note in the box. Send it to our customer support crew at this address:

Is Kendama USA really located in the USA?
Yes. We are (and always have been) a United States based company, and always ship from the USA. When you order from us, you will always receive your order quicker than any of the international web stores.

Do you have extra strings?
We have a variety of replacement strings available, and some awesome colored ones too!

Is it true that the Kendama is the best toy in the world?
After extensive testing and research, we can officially verify that the Kendama is, in fact, the best toy in the world, in our humble opinion.

I’m considering NOT buying a Kendama, is this a mistake?
I’m glad you asked. According to our totally-real graphs and panels of rocket scientists … YES!! We have found that failure to purchase a Kendama would be a HUGE mistake. It’s much better that you buy one today.
