We’re excited to introduce the 4th Series of Kendama USA Pro Models.
We have poured years of passion, and months of effort into refining this product. The V4 Pro Models were specifically designed by each Pro to represent their personal style, concepts, and individuality. They all feature improvements to shape, durability, balance, and performance. The 5 Kendama USA Pro Players are featured in this series: Colin Sander, Zack Yourd, Turner Thorne, Alex Smith, and Jake Wiens.
We couldn’t be more honored and excited to announce Jake Wiens as the new 2013 Kendama USA Pro Team Member.
Jake has been an awe inspiring figure in the Kendama community for as long as I can remember. The roots he planted during the first backyard Kengarden battles in San Francisco have grown into something none of us could have imagined. Jake brings an unmatched energy and enthusiasm to the game, and shares a true passion for introducing Kendama to new players around the world. With all the collaborations, mutual support, amazing events, and incredible dama journeys over the past few years, it’s a very well deserved spot.
This edit takes you into Jakes life in San Francisco, with stories from some of his closest friends and inspirations.
Jake’s Pro Model Kendama will be released in 2014. Welcome to the family.
Big thanks to Colin Sander for the incredible production quality, and to Tori Sander for the crispy stills. Shoutouts to Matt Rice, Harald Boyesen, Andy Olive, Guy Wright, and Sourmash for their contributions to this production.
All cherry. All the time. These beautiful Kendamas are the hardwood version of the standard 2013 Pro Models. They are strung with the same color string as their beech wood counterpart. The denser, harder cherry wood adds more weight to your Kendama game and has a great clack sound like no other. The 2013 Pro Model sticky paint has been a game changer, and this limited edition series is one of our favorite Kendama’s we’ve ever produced. These are the rarest specimens in our spirit animal series. Be sure to swoop one before they’re extinct!
A portion of every purchase goes straight to your favorite pro, helping to support future Kendama progression and growth.
Kendama USA is proud to present the sixth edit from Zack Yourd. Spending a week out in Colorado to log some time on the snowboard, Yourd was able to pick up the camera and lace some kendama maneuvers in the colorful views of the Centennial State. Experience the elevations and good vibes this edit has to offer as you gain insight to the endless creativity that’s sparked from kendama.
Special thanks to Nick Yourd for making this all possible.
Our most highly anticipated model ever is finally available.
The 2013 Pro Model uses a brand new paint we have been developing for nearly 2 years, and offers a playing experience like no other. The tama gives an unmatched level of grip during Kendama play.
Each Pro has chosen his own unique color, and has his autograph and spirit animal engraved into the handle, so you know it’s a genuine Kendama USA product.
These Pro’s have spent years innovating play, teaching, promoting, and giving back to the Kendama community. You’ll be glad to know that a portion of every sale goes directly to each pro, and helps them continue to progress and push the sport even further.
Every 2013 Pro Model comes with a replacement string and bead set, instructions, and extra stickers. Please note the 2013 Pro Models may come strung left handed, but is quick and easy to re-string back and forth between right and left handed play.
Get ready to take your Kendama play to the next level.
In this powerful, long-form showcase- one day of Japanese kendama-play is documented. Top performers from across the globe spend quality time with one another in the land o’ the dama. This was just one of many days during a blessed summer trip for WKF2012. I photographed so much, but had such little time upon my return I have only now begun to reach the footage. The longer-yet piece, ‘Peak Performance Kendama’ is in the works, including the whole of this trip, as well as the KG Roots tour, and more. One Day In Japan shows the joys of veteran-form… we didn’t set out after stunts. … this time.

We are proud to announce Alex Smith as the winner of our annual contest, and the newest addition to the Kendama USA Pro Team.
Alex’s edits clearly showed a wide variety of talent and professionalism. Amazing tricks, technical ability, creativity, lifestyle, personality, and production value. He has already made a positive mark in the Kendama community, and we couldn’t be happier to have him as part of the family here. If you haven’t seen them already, make sure to check out his edits below.
We also want to tip our hats to everybody who entered this year, and especially those who came very close in the 2nd round. The quality of the entries absolutely blew our minds, and we have immense respect toward everybody who participated. It was by far the most difficult contest we’ve ever had to judge, so hold your heads up and give yourselves the well deserved credit for what you accomplished. We hope you had a fun time making the edits, and can’t wait for next year.
